Little to No Radiation

Instead of an X-ray, we use polarized light radiography to take pictures of your children’s teeth. The radiation from this machine is 80% less than a traditional X-ray, the equivalent of your child playing in the sun for 1 hour.

In-Office Surgery Center

For patients who do need surgery, or for small children who need sedation for cavity treatment, our state-certified surgery center provides the best possible care. We have licensed anesthesiologists and an RN circulator present to help children throughout surgery and recovery.

Braces & Orthodontics

We do orthodontics, too! With FastBraces, patients are often out of braces in 120 or less. This incredible technology moves the tooth from the root first, resulting in more permanent change.

Pain-Free Treatment

The WaterLase also enables us to administer pain-free treatment without anesthetic for 85% of our patients. Whenever possible, we use topical anesthetic or laughing gas rather than putting kids under general anesthesia.

Dr Howell and the staff at OPD are just outstanding and wonderful. My 6 week old had a major lip tie that made it difficult for him to eat properly. After an over the phone consult, I was quickly scheduled. At the in person consult, I was asked my needs as a parent, my child’s needs, what I looked for most, and how they could best service me. Dr Howell was hands on and with me every step of the way. It’s not easy to put your infant in the hands of a stranger, but I felt like the staff at OPD was family. I saw instant results in my baby’s feeding habits and his healing process was phenomenal. Over the course of my baby’s healing, Dr Howell personally called me to check up on my baby and I. I’ve never felt more cared for and seen. Any and all questions were met with respectful and timely answers, and they were so flexible with my schedule. Dr Howell made a special request of mine happen and did it with a smile, no questions asked. 1000% without a doubt would recommend OPD for any and everything! Special shout out to Faith, she was so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. We ❤️ OPD!!

We had a frenectomy done here and couldn't be happier. My 3 month old was clicking at the bottle, dribbling milk out the sides, not gaining weight, only drinking 2 to 3 oz per feeding, reflux, and not sleeping through the night. All around he was not a happy baby. We found out he had a stage 4 lip tie and had it lasered the next day! You don't have to do any of the lip pulling because they put a specialized bandage on the wound. He was fussy for about a week and it took him about 4 days to relearn how to suck on a bottle. We are 2 weeks out, and now he drinks 4 to 5 and sometimes 6 oz per feeding, doesn't click, sleeps through the night, is no longer on reflux meds and is all around a much happier baby!Review Text

I take both my kids here, and have for a few years. Dr. Howell is very caring, and takes great care of his patients. I was happy to have my daughter undergo general anesthesia when she needed work done beyond cleanings, because she very anxious about dental work, and it was much better for her that way. I find the staff to be focused on doing the best thing for the kids, which is what’s really important.

I love that I can bring all 4 of my kids at the same time. The whole staff help out and making doing so many at a time a piece of cake. Something that would normally give me anxiety was so easy and fast. They are also good with my child on the Autism Spectrum and calming her anxiety.

They are so nice. The moment I walked in I was greeted inside with such a nice and positive attitude. Josh helped me and was so nice to my 2 kids. He was very patient with them and was very good at keeping them entertaining. The dentist was very nice on the other hand. I have a year old and a 3 year old and they were so good the whole time of their appointment. Thank you so much!

We’ve been coming here for about 3 years. I wanted to share that I have had great interactions with Josh and Cam here lately. They are friendly, organized, and get things done. Cam is working on getting a procedure scheduled for my child. I didn’t even have to ask him about it, he updated me when we came in for a different appointment. Josh is pretty new to this office but he is probably my favorite assistant that’s worked with my kids here. He makes it fun and not scary for my tiny kids.
